Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a two-day visit to Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, will unveil multiple projects for the North East worth over 55,000 crore rupees. He will also virtually inaugurate several projects of different States in the region today. Mr. Modi will also virtually inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects for Tripura worth more than 8,500 crore rupees. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Finance Minister Pranajit Singh Roy, Union Minister of State Pratima Bhoumik, Member of Parliament Rebati Tripura, Member of Parliament from Rajya Sabha Biplab Kumar Deb and several state Ministers of the State will be present in the main programme to be organised at Sabroom, Tripura.

The important projects, for which Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone, include the construction of the Agartala Western Bypass. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Land Port at the Integrated Check Post at Sabroom in South Tripura constructed at a cost of about 230 crore rupees. The newly developed Sabroom Land Port is located along the international border between India and Bangladesh and facilitates cargo and passenger movement up to Chittagong Port of Bangladesh. The foundation stone of the Sabroom Land Port was laid by the Prime



Minister in March 2021. 

Mr. Modi will also inaugurate various road projects and a project for 1.46 lakh rural functional household tap connections in the State.

During his visit to Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh today, PM Modi will inaugurate, lay the foundation stone and do the groundbreaking of Projects worth 41 thousand crore rupees under Viksit Bharat, Viksit Arunachal Pradesh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the much-awaited strategically important Sela Tunnel in Tawang District from Itanagar today. This project includes two tunnels and 8.780 km of approach road. The tunnel, stretching through the Sela-Charbela ridge, will be the world's longest bilane tunnel at 13,000 feet elevation. It will provide all-weather connectivity and reduce the travel time to Tawang by an hour. 

The foundation of the project was laid by Mr. Modi in February 2019. Along with this, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for 38 other infrastructure projects. He will also do the groundbreaking ceremony of two projects, including the Dibang Multipurpose Hydropower Project worth over 31 thousand 8 hundred crore.
