PM Modi to visit Gujarat today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a two-day visit to Gujarat from today to launch several projects in different parts of state. During his visit, Mr Modi will attend programmes in different parts of the state including Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Modasa and Gandhinagar. 

In a series of tweets, the Prime Minister said, his first two programmes will be in Sabarmati Ashram. Mr Modi said, he is looking forward to taking part in the centenary celebrations of Sabarmati Ashram.He will also take part in programme to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Shrimad Rajchandraji, considered to be a Guru to Mahatma Gandhi at Sabarmati Ashram. 

Mr Modi will then head to Rajkot where he will join the Samajik Adhikarita Shivir and interact with the Divyangjans.During the function, Prime Minister will distribute various aid and assistive devices to



divyangjans. This will be the country's biggest camp in terms of the number of beneficiaries. 

State Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thaawarchand Gehlot will also be present at the event.After that, Mr Modi will attend a programme at the Aji Dam, where he will dedicate irrigation and water related initiatives to the nation.

On Friday morning, Prime Minister will dedicate water supply schemes based on Vatrak, Mazum and Meswo Dams at Modasa. In the afternoon, Mr Modi will inaugurate Textiles India 2017 Summit . 

He said Government is undertaking several initiatives to support the textiles sector, which is a source of employment for several Indians. In the evening, Prime Minister will inaugurate the integrated sports and entertainment Arena Project.
