Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said, the BJP, if voted to power, will work for inclusive development and present corruption-free governance in Mizoram. He was addressing an election rally at Lunglei.
Mr Modi said the opportunity has come before the people of Mizoram to establish BJP government in the state. Mr Modi said that the Congress Government has been working for divide and rule and indulging in corruption.
He said BJP is dedicated to the development of northeast focussing on
connectivity, highway, railway, airway & waterway.
Mr Modi said 'Transformation through Transportation’ is the agenda for the development of the region. He said broad gauge rail work from Silchar-Bairabi to Sairang near Aizawl is expected to be completed in one and a half years.
Later in the afternoon, Prime Minister interacted with intellectuals and civil societies at Aijal Club.
The state is going to the polls on 28th of this month to elect 40 member state Assembly.
