Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a 5 day visit across South India, covering the states of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. The campaign will kick off from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu today, March 15. The Prime Minister will be embarking on mega roadshows as part of the campaign.
Mr. Modi will address a public meeting arranged by the State BJP Unit at the grounds of the Vivekananda College at around 11 am. He is scheduled to arrive by helicopter from Trivandrum. Security has been tightened around the district and also on the roads leading to the venue of the meeting.
After the meeting, the Prime Minister will leave for Trivandrum in the afternoon. Senior leaders of the State BJP Unit Dr. L. Murugan, Pon Radhakrishnan and K. Annamalai are making arrangements for the massive public meeting of the Party. It is said that Mr. Modi will visit Salem and Coimbatore on the 18th and 19th of this month to address public meetings to garner votes for the Party. The Prime Minister has visited the State recently to launch several projects and also addressed public meetings at Tiruppur, Tirunelveli, Madurai and Tuticorin.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address two public rallies in Karnataka. BJP State General Secretary and MLA Sunil Kumar has informed media persons in Bengaluru today that the Prime Minister will address a public rally in Kalburgi on March 16th and another in Shivamogga on March 18th. Sunil Kumar also informed that BJP National President J P Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be among the BJP leaders scheduled to visit Karnataka in the next few days.
Speaking about the announcement of candidates for the Lok Sabha election, he informed that the first list of candidates of Karnataka is likely to be announced tonight or tomorrow. Meanwhile, Karnataka state Congress President and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar said today that the Guarantee programmes of the State
Government are welcomed by the people and that Congress is likely to win over 20 MP seats in the state.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be holding a Road Show at Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency as part of his programmes for three days during the next few days in Telangana. He will also hold public meetings in Nagarkurnool tomorrow and in Jagityal two days later. He will be starting his election campaign today through his road show from Mirjalguda to Malkajgiri crossroad, for about 5 kms in the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha Constituency.
Bharatiya Janata Party is focusing on Malkajgiri, Chevella, Hyderabad, and the sitting Secunderabad seats and fielding national leaders in its campaign. Home Minister Amit Shah visited the city two days ago and now Prime Minister Modi is all set to visit for the second time within a span of ten days. Recently, Modi participated in a public meeting held at Patancheru on the outskirts of Hyderabad, and now holding a roadshow of about 5 km in Malkajgiri.
Meanwhile, the police have imposed several restrictions due to the roadshow. Flying of paragliders, remote control drones, and remote-control microlight aircraft is prohibited within a 5 km radius from the route of the Prime Minister’s rally. Rachakonda Police Commissioner Tarun Joshi has warned that action will be taken against violators under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also visit Kerala today to spearhead the election campaign of NDA in the State. Prime Minister will reach Pathanamthitta district in Kerala today to participate in the election campaign of NDA candidates in Pathanamthitta and Mavelikkara Lok Sabha constituencies. He will address the public function in Pathanamthitta, where around one lakh party workers will be participating in the event. Elaborate arrangements are being made and tight security is in place in the district, given the Prime Minister’s visit.
