Dehradun: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit in Dehradun today. The two-day Summit, being held at Forest Research Institute of the city, focuses on the theme of "peace to prosperity". Thousands of investors and delegates from around the globe are expected to attend the event. The summit is expected to play a vital role in the state's industrial development.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to hold a roadshow at the start of the Global Investors Summit. The summit will see the participation of a significant number of industrialists from across the country and the world. Given the presence of VVIPs, extensive security arrangements have been made to ensure the safety of all attendees. Uttarakhand is anticipating a significant number of
investment proposals from both India and abroad in this mega event.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has stated that the investment proposals received at the conference will not merely be limited to MoUs but the state government will work at every level to ensure that these proposals are implemented on the ground. He mentioned that his government has simplified the industrial policy and implemented 27 new policies based on industrialist suggestions. It may be recalled that prior to the Investor Summit, a Mini Investor Summit was held at the district level, which garnered considerable interest from investors. The state Government has already signed MoUs worth about Rs. 3 Lakh Crore with various investors and industrial groups.
