Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives in Kochi this evening on a two day visit to Kerala. Mr Modi will participate in a road show, followed by a youth conclave in Kochi this evening.

He will also launch several new projects in the state. Soon after his arrival at the Naval Airport in Kochi this evening,  the Prime Minister will participate in a roadshow, on his way to the Sacred Heart College ground at Thevara, where Yuvam 2023,  the youth conclave will be held.  Several thousands of youth are expected to participate in the conclave, organised by the Vibrant Youth for Modifying Kerala, a voluntary organisation working for the acceleration of the all-inclusive growth and sustainable development of the state. 

The Prime Minister who stays in the city overnight, is scheduled to meet Christian Community leaders later this



evening.

Tomorrow, Mr Modi will leave for the state capital Thiruvananthapuram, where he will flag off the Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod Vande Bharat Express at the Central Railway Station. Later at a public function at the Central Stadium, the Prime Minister will dedicate the country's first water metro project -- the Kochi Water Metro -- to the nation.  

The 1337 crore rupee project will provide a modern, eco-friendly ferry system linking the islands in and around the city of Kochi.  Eight fully air conditioned modern boats built by the Cochin Shipyard, each with one hundred pax capacity will be utilised for the project in the first phase.  Mr Modi will also lay the foundation stone for a Science Park and launch several railway development works on the occasion."
