Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Odisha government’s flagship initiative, the Subhadra Scheme, in Bhubaneswar today. The Subhadra scheme is the largest women-centric initiative in the state, aimed at supporting over 1 crore women.
Eligible beneficiaries between the ages of 21 and 60 will receive 50,000 rupees over a period of five years. Beneficiaries will be credited 10,000 rupees annually in two equal instalments through Aadhaar-linked, DBT-enabled bank accounts. During the launch event, Mr. Modi will initiate the first fund transfer to over 10 lakh women beneficiaries.
The Prime
Minister will also lay the foundation stone and dedicate to the nation railway projects worth more than 2,800 crore rupees. These railway projects will enhance railway infrastructure in Odisha and improve growth and connectivity in the region. He will also lay the foundation stone of National Highway Projects worth more than 1000 crore rupees.
Mr. Modi will also interact with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana—Urban. The Odisha government has announced a holiday for all schools and colleges within the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) area today
