PM to visit Karnataka tomorrow

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Mandya and Hubbali-Dharwad in Karnataka tomorrow, March 12.  He will dedicate various development initiatives and lay the foundation stones of infrastructure projects worth around 16 thousand crore rupees. 

In Mandya, the Prime Minister will dedicate the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway to the nation. The 118 Kilometer-long project has been developed at a total cost of around eight thousand 480 crore rupees. It will reduce the travel time between Bengaluru and Mysuru from around three hours to about 75 minutes. He will also lay the foundation stone for Mysuru-Khushalnagar's four-lane highway. Spread over 92 kilometres, the project will be developed at a cost of around 4 thousand 130 crore rupees.

 

During his visit to Hubbali-Dharwad, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate the Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad to the nation. Developed at a cost of over 850 crore rupees, the institute currently offers a 4-year B.Tech. programmes, inter-disciplinary 5-year BS-MS programme, M.Tech. and Ph.D. programmes. 

The Prime Minister will also dedicate to the



nation the longest railway platform in the world at Sri Siddharoodha Swamiji Hubballi Station. It has been recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records recently. The 1507-meter-long platform has been built at a cost of about 20 crore rupees.

 

Mr. Modi will also dedicate the electrification of the Hosapete - Hubballi - Tinaighat section of South Western Railways and the upgradation of the Hosapete station, for boosting connectivity in the region. In addition to it, Mr Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various projects of Hubballi-Dharwad smart city to be developed at a cost of around 520 crore rupees. 

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of the Jayadeva Hospital and Research Centre. To further augments water supply in the region, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the Dharwad Multi Village Water Supply Scheme, which will be developed at a cost of over 1040 crore rupees. He will also lay the foundation stone for the Tupparihalla Flood Damage Control Project, which will be developed at a cost of about  150 crore rupees.
