Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the golden jubilee celebrations of Haryana in Gurugram today. The State, which was created on 1st of November 1966, completes 50 years today. During the event, Mr. Modi will launch year-long Swarna Jayanti celebrations of the state.
He is also expected to make important announcements. On the eve of the event, the State Government yesterday announced welfare



measures for various sections of the society including unemployed post-graduates, ex-Servicemen and those drawing social security pensions.
Apart from Mr Modi and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal, Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled States and more than 50,000 people are expected to attend the event at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium. Security has been tightened in the city in view of the mega event.
