Police arrested Jamia Alumni Association president Shifa-Ur-Rahman for northeast Delhi violence

The Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested Shifa-Ur-Rahman, president of Jamia Alumni Association for charges of conspiracy during the Delhi violence.

Police sources say that Shifa-ur-Rahman was called for questioning on Sunday



during which cops found a number of incriminating pieces of evidence following which he was arrested.

His name had cropped up after the arrest of Jamia students Safoora Zargar and Meeran Haider. Both have been booked under the UAPA.
