Policeman shot dead by gunmen in Jammu and Kashmir

A head constable, Ali Mohd Ganie, was shot dead by suspected militants in Hassanpora in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district on Saturday.

He was posted at Kulgam police station. After the gunmen fired at him, he was rushed to the



hospital. However, he died on the way.

The area has been cordoned off by security forces.

Only three weeks ago, two militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in the same region of south Kashmir.
