In Himachal Pradesh, the polling for Shimla Municipal Corporation has begun. Nearly 91,000 voters are expected to seal political fate of 126 candidates in 34 wards of the town. The BJP, Congress and CPI (M) supported candidates are in the fray but the elections are not being fought on party symbols.
People are using
their franchise through Electronic voting machines in all the 34 wards of hills queen Shimla. A total of 153 polling booths have been set up of which 23 are very sensitive while 56 are sensitive. Tight security arrangements are in place to ensure fairness during the polling. The counting would be taken up tomorrow.
