In Assam, Polling for the 26 Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) constituencies spread across two hill districts is underway and will continue till 4:30 pm today.

Altogether 154 candidates are in the fray including 14 female for the 26 seats and Assam State Election Commission has set up a total of 906 polling stations out of which 57 has been identified as sensitive.

Election Commission informed that all the Presiding and polling officials as well as security personnel reached at their respective polling stations well in advance.

The Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council consists of 30 members, 26 of whom are elected covering both Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong districts and 4 members are nominated.
