In Kerala, polling is underway for the second phase of local body elections. Voting is taking place in five districts - Kottayam, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Palakkd and Wayanad in this phase. Voting, which began at 7 this morning, will end at 6 pm. The poll is likely to witness a triangular contest between CPM-led Left Democratic Front (LDF), Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) and
the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Third and final phase of the elections will be held on the 14th of this month and counting of votes will be held on December 16. 12,643 polling stations are set across the five districts. The entire election process will be held adhering to strict covid guidelines.
