Ahmedabad: In Gujarat, polls to 8,686 Gram Panchayats concluded peacefully yesterday barring a few incidents. According to state election commission, around 74 percent voter turnout was registered till the evening. A total of 27,200 candidates were in fray for the election of Sarpanch and more



than 1 lakh candidates for the wards. 

Counting of votes will be held on 21st December. As many as 1165 gram Panchayat and around 9160 wards have been declared uncontested where representatives were elected unopposed.
