Prakash Javadekar to inaugurate transit campus of IIT in Jammu today

Union Minister for Human Resource and Development Prakash Javadekar will inaugurate the transit campus of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Jammu today. Mr. Javadekar, along with Minister of State in PMO Jitendra Singh will arrive in Jammu this morning for the purpose.

A total of 90 students have been enrolled at IIT Jammu



for the academic session. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) had been signed between the Department of Higher Education, Jammu and Kashmir and the Department of Higher Education in the HRD Ministry, on May 1, 2016 in this regard. The construction of transit campus spread over 25 acres within the actual site will start soon.
