In Ladakh, all arrangements are being made for tomorrow's Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, general council elections. For the first time EVMs are being used for voting in LAHDC Leh elections.
The polling parties and security personnel of the remaining 172 polling stations are scheduled to dispatch today .The first batch of parties have just left for their respective polling booths. The last batch will move from Leh at 10 am this morning. The batches left yesterday have reached their destination safely.
However, According to the officials of
Election Authority office, the polling parties of two polling booths Demjok and Chumur located at Zero Indo - China border and two other polling booths Rakuru and Fastan located at Indo Pak border who have stayed overnight will reach their respective polling booths today. For two polling booths which have no road connectivity, the polling parties and polling material were sent by helicopters.
All necessary arrangements are also made to keep poll staff and the voters safe from Corona infection during the polling process.
