President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar have extended their greetings on the eve of Lohri. They also extended their greeted for the upcoming Makar Sankranti, Pongal, and Magh Bihu festivals, which will be celebrated on the 14th of this month. In her message, the President said that these festivals are symbols of the country’s rich cultural heritage and bring enthusiasm and joy to everyone’s lives. 

She emphasized that these festivals are celebrated in diverse forms across various regions of the country, underscoring their role in showcasing the country’s harmonious relationship with nature. The President also mentioned that people on these festivals take a holy dip in sacred rivers and



perform acts of charity on these occasions.

The President further expressed gratitude to the hardworking farmers, who work tirelessly to feed the nation, highlighting that these festivals are also associated with crops. She also conveyed hope that these festivals would bring happiness and prosperity into everyone’s lives and that the people would work together with greater vigour to make the country a developed nation.

The Vice President underlined that these festivals represent the country’s age-old tradition of honouring the harvest season. He added that they showcase the beautiful tapestry of cultural traditions that makes the country truly exceptional.
