In a major setback to the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, 20 legislators from the Aam Aadmi Party were on Sunday disqualified from the Delhi Legislative Assembly for allegedly holding office of profit.President Ram Nath Kovind today approved the recommendation by the Election Commission to disqualify the 20 AAP MLAs for also serving as the
principal secretaries and thus violating law under the office of profit charge.
Reacting on the news, Delhi Minister Gopal Rai said, "We had hoped to go to the President asking him to give us a chance to present ourselves. Now we received this news. AAP will knock the doors of High Court and even Supreme Court if the need be."
