President Droupadi Murmu met with probationers of the Indian Trade Service and the Indian Cost Accounts Service in New Delhi yesterday. Speaking on the occasion, the president said that with rapid economic growth of 8.2 percent in 2023-24, the country’s economy has been demonstrating resilience in the face of geopolitical challenges. The president also emphasised that India needs to attract private investment to increase the levels of per capita income and get high levels of growth, even amidst a turbulent global environment.

highlighted the responsibility of Indian Trade Service officers to facilitate the creation of an enabling environment for increasing trade across borders. She reminded the officers that their role is crucial in powering India’s growth and making an impact on the lives of people at large.
The President further asserted that Indian Cost Accounts Service officers play a proactive role in rationalizing expenditure across government operations, schemes, and projects and ensuring transparent assessment of revenues.
