President Droupadi Murmu will be on a three-day visit to Bihar beginning today. The President will attend several functions including launch of Fourth Bihar Agriculture Roadmap 2023-2028 and three convocations during her itinerary.
The President will launch the Bihar Agriculture Roadmap this afternoon at a function in Patna. The Roadmap is a blueprint for the development of agriculture in the state for the next five years. It comprises the action plan of Agriculture and 11 other allied departments.
More than 1800 farmers and 700 members of the Self Help Group (SHG) the Jeevika Didis will also attend the launch of the Agriculture Roadmap.
Later in the day, the President will offer prayers at Takht Shri Harimandir Sahib, Patna City, the birthplace of Guru Govind Singh Ji Maharaj.
This is the first visit of
President Droupadi Murmu to Bihar after assuming office. As a part of her itinerary, tomorrow the President will attend the First Convocation Ceremony of Mahatma Gandhi Central University in Motihari. Later in the day she will also confer degrees and medals to meritorious students of AIIMS Patna in the first convocation ceremony of the medical institution.
On Thursday evening the President will interact with members of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) at Rajbhavan. These members are part of 75 listed vulnerable tribes such as Birhor, Paharia, and Asurs by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. In the last leg of her visit, the President will attend the 3rd Convocation Ceremony of the South Bihar Central University, Gaya on Friday.
