New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu will embark on a 4-day visit to Nagaland, Mizoram, and Sikkim beginning today. The President will attend the civic reception to be hosted in her honour by the Nagaland government in Kohima today.
The civic reception will begin at 3 this afternoon at Capital Cultural Hall Kohima. On her arrival at the cultural hall, the President will be received by Assam and Nagaland Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, and Chief Secretary J Alam.
A host of State Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, Officials from the Central and State government, and members from the Tribals hohos will attend the civic reception. On the occasion, President Murmu will also virtually inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of several projects of Nagaland which includes newly constructed government schools, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana roads, and others.
The President is also scheduled to meet state
ministers at the Raj Bhavan which will be followed by a state banquet at the chief minister’s residential complex this evening.
Tomorrow, President Murmu will pay her respects at the Kohima War Cemetery and visit Kigwema village where she will interact with the Village Council Members and the members of Self Help Groups (SHGs). On the same day, she will grace the 17th convocation of the Mizoram University at Aizawl and inaugurate various education-related projects in the state of Mizoram.
On Friday, November 4, the President will address the members of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly at Aizawl. On the same day, she will attend a civic reception to be hosted by the Government of Sikkim in her honour and inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for the various projects of the Central and State governments. On Saturday, the President will interact with women achievers and members of SHGs at Tathagatha Tsal, Ravongla before returning to Delhi.
