President Droupadi Murmu will arrive Bhubaneswar this evening on a five-day visit to Odisha to attend several official programmes including Indian Navy Day tomorrow at the Blue Flag Beach in Puri.
Soon after her arrival, the President will unveil the new statue of Pandit Raghunath Murmu and visit Adim Owar Jarpa Jaher in Bhubaneswar. She is scheduled to visit the 12th century Sri Jagannath Temple in Puri tomorrow morning and offer prayers to the Lords.
She will also grace the 75th anniversary celebration of Gopabandhu Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya in Puri on the same day and head for the Blue Flag Beach in Puri tomorrow afternoon, where she will grace Navy Day as the Chief Guest. On Navy Day hosted by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, the Indian Navy will present a grand Operational Demonstration.
The event marks the anniversary of Operation Trident, a critical naval
offensive during the 1971 Indo-Pak War. The event will showcase over 15 ships, submarines, and more than 40 aircraft, with support from Marine Commandos and personnel from the Indian Army.
Aiming to highlight the Navy’s capabilities and its dedication to protecting India’s maritime interests, it will demonstrate aerial manoeuvres by MiG-29K and Hawk fighter jets, combat exercises by MARCOS, submarine operations, amphibious landings, and rocket firing from warships.
On Thursday, the President will attend the 40th Convocation of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology in Bhubaneswar and be the Chief Guest at the inauguration of the New Judicial Court Complex in the city. President Murmu will be in her home district Mayurbhanj on Friday and Saturday to lay the foundation of various projects and interaction with students before returning to Delhi.
