Chamrajnagar: President Ram Nath Kovind has inaugurated a 450 bedded Government Teaching hospital at Chamrajnagar Institute of Medical Sciences in Karnataka on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion the President emphasised on reaching healthcare to the remotest parts of the country. He noted that the Government Teaching hospital that he inaugurated today will help the people mostly comprising of tribals in Chamrajnagar to access healthcare services.
Admiring the fact that the hospital is situated in the backward Chamarajanagar district, bordering Tamilnadu and Kerala, the
President said that the people living in these states will also benefit from it. The hospital will train 750 doctors and para medical staff every year.
The President underscored the need to make India atma nirbhar in healthcare services, which he said would be possible if there is sufficient manpower and infrastructure. He appreciated the efforts of healthcare warriors in creating a world record in vaccinating 25 million people in a single day and informed that India will soon cross the one billion mark in terms of vaccination.
