President Kovind to present Swachh Bharat Mission Awards today

President Ram Nath Kovind will attend the Swachhata Mahotsava in New Delhi today. He will also present Awards for outstanding contribution to the journey of Swachh Bharat Mission in various categories.

Minister for Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will preside over the function. To accelerate the efforts to achieve universal



sanitation coverage and to put focus on sanitation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the Swachh Bharat Mission on 2nd October, 2014.

The aim is to achieve a clean and Open Defecation Free India this year, as a fitting tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th Birth Anniversary.
