President of India Ram Nath Kovind is scheduled to visit Odisha on the 21st and 22nd of March. During his two days' visit to the state, the President will inaugurate the Rourkela Steel Plant-run  Ispat General Hospital in Rourkela, besides attending other programs.

Prior to President's momentous visit to Odisha, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas and Still Minister Dharmendra Pradhan called on the President at the Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi yesterday to extend a formal invitation to him for his forthcoming

visit.

On the occasion, the Union Minister presented him with a traditional cotton towel known as 'gamcha' in local parlance, as a humble invitational gesture. Later, Mr. Pradhan tweeted- ' Honoured to present him with a traditional hand woven cotton 'gamchha' made by Dalit artisans from Athmalik town of Angul district in Odisha'.

Meanwhile, the state administration is working out the nitty-gritties of security protocols along with covid safety measures in connection with the visit.
