President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday inaugurated the four-day cultural extravaganza 'Vividhta ka Amrit Mahotsav: A cultural odyssey' unveiling the richness of Northeast India at Amrit Udyan, Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. On the occasion, the President said that the diverse culture of our country is our strength and soft power. She added that celebrating this diversity at the Mahotsav will showcase and experience India's rich cultural heritage and unity.
 
President Murmu expressed that a large number of people will come to participate in the festival and experience the cultural energy of the Northeast. Union Minister of Development of North East Region (DoNER), Culture and Tourism G Kishan Reddy also be present on the occasion.
 
The Mahotsav is being held as a part of Udyan



Utsav, 2024 organised by the Ministry of DoNER in partnership with the Culture Ministry. The festival aims to foster exchanges in traditional handicrafts, handlooms, and agro products, becoming a catalyst for the region's growth and development. The DoNER Ministry said that over three hundred weavers, artisans, farmers, and entrepreneurs from the Northeast Region, will participate in the Mahotsav. 

In addition, live demonstrations of handicraft products from more than 20 stations will be done during the Mahotsav. The Ministry said that this Mahotsav will showcase the rich diversity of Northeast India, blending traditional arts, crafts, and cultures under one vibrant umbrella. Visitors can visit Mahotsav from 10 AM to 8 PM without any entry fee.
