Mukherjee will today inaugurate six major projects in northern Kerala. These
include Phase -I of the Muziris heritage project, a tourism initiative at
Kodungallur, jointly implemented by Central and State governments.
The Muziris heritage conservation and tourism initiative that is based at the lost Indo-Roman port near Kodungalloor in Kerala, was known as Muziris in Sangam Literature.
The project links the heritage of the ancient port Muziris, which is believed to have been lost in a 14th century flood in the River Periyar.
style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">The project attempts
to partially recreate the ordinary life of the coastal and backwaters people in
the Kochi kingdom in the 16th to 20th centuries.
President will also inaugurate five key projects, including declaration of Kerala as the first digital state and dedication of the first Gender Park in the country at Kozhikode.
He will dedicate the UL Cyber Park, the first of its kind by a Cooperative Society in the country. The President will launch Kanive an extended project.
