President Ram Nath Kovind to present Presidential Colours to Submarine Arm of Navy

The President Ram Nath Kovind, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, will present today the Presidential Colours to the Submarine Arm of the Navy at the Command headquarters in Vishakhapatnam. The proud Submarine Arm of Indian Navy celebrates 50 glorious years of service to the Nation. 

It was on chilly morning of 8th December 1967 when the tricolor was unfurled onboard INS Kalvari.The first



Kalvari has since been decommissioned. The Nation awaits when the reincarnation new Kalvari will be commissioned this 14 Dec 2017. Submarines are the most complex and potent war machines.

The President, yesterday inaugurated the Naval Maritime Aircraft Museum in Vishakhapatnam, featuring the maritime patrol aircraft Tupolev-142M, which served the Navy for almost three decades.
