President Draupadi Murmu is on three day visit to Jharkhand. The President will today visit Khunti to grace a conference of more than 500 Women Self Help Groups organized by Tribal Affairs Ministry. Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda, Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Renuka Singh and Bisheshwar Tudu along with Governor CP Radhakrishnan will also be present in the function. Later in the evening, the President will grace the 2nd convocation of Indian Institute of Information Technology, Ranchi at Namkum.
President will thereafter attend a civic reception hosted in her honour by
the Government of Jharkhand at Raj Bhavan in Ranchi. On the second day of her visit to Jharkhand, President Draupadi Murmu will grace the conference with over 25 thousand women of various Self Help Groups in Birsa Munda College in Khunti.
The conference has been aimed to focus upon the livelihood and health of tribal women. The conference will also exhibit products made by Tribal Women SHGs under Van Dhan Vikas Yojana of TRIFED and NSTFDC under Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Several demo booths have also been displayed at the conference.
