President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu have greeted the people on the occasion of Christmas.

In his message, Mr Kovind said, people celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ whose life has been an inspiration to the humanity to follow the message of love, compassion and fraternity. He said, today, when the world finds itself tormented by strife, hatred and violence, his words and deeds have the power to heal wounds and show the way out. He called on people to reaffirm the resolve to walk on the path he has shown and create a kinder and more egalitarian society.
 
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu said, the story of Jesus Christ is a saga of truth, love and hope and added that Christ embraced humanity with



all its flaws and imperfections and loved them unconditionally. He urged people to cherish the values that Jesus Christ symbolized. He called upon people to be more compassionate to those who are less fortunate than them and do the best to build a better world on the strong foundations of peace, tolerance and harmony.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also greeted the nation on the occasion of Christmas. In his messge, Mr Modi said the nation remembers the noble thoughts of Jesus Christ with immense joy. He said Jesus Christ epitomise spirit of service and compassion, and devoted his life towards alleviating human suffering. The Prime Minister said his teachings inspire millions across the world.
