New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu yesterday interacted with the members of 75 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) from various parts of the country at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The President had invited them for a visit to the Rashtrapati Bhawan for extensive interaction and to apprise them about the various Schemes and Initiatives of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

A guided tour around the Amrit Udyan and the Rashtrapati Bhawan was also organised for the PVTG members.

Tribal cultural dances Mal Pahariya of Bihar, Siddi of Gujarat, Irula of Kerala, Sahariya of Rajasthan, Baiga Pardhauni of Madhya Pradesh and Budigali of Odisha were also performed. The President



also felicitated one male and one female guest from each PVTG Community.

Speaking on the occasion, the President said, in Budget 2023-24, the Union Government has announced the Pradhan Mantri PVTG Development Mission. She said, the Mission will saturate PVTG families and habitations with basic facilities.

President Murmu also mentioned the Budget announcement of a Mission to eliminate sickle cell anemia. She also stressed education for PVTGs. Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda, Ministers of State for Tribal Affairs Renuka Singh Saruta and Bishweswar Tudu and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
