President Droupadi Murmu extended her greetings to all the fellow citizens living in India and abroad on the auspicious occasion of Lohri, Makar Sankranti, Magh Bihu, and Pongal. In a message, President Murmu said that these festivals are living forms of the country’s cultural heritage as well as symbols of unity in diversity. She further added, that people bath in holy rivers and undertake charity-related and other cultural activities on these
occasions.
The President said that these festivals, celebrated in different manifestations across the country, forge social amity, unity, and brotherhood. President Murmu said that the agricultural festivals also promote environmental conservation and recognize the hard work of the farmers. She hoped that these festivals foster the spirit of love and harmony and contribute in making our country more peaceful and prosperous.
