The United States-India Solidarity Mission (USISM) is organising a private charter flight from Newark Liberty International Airport to Hyderabad (EWR to HYD) at the request of many stranded Indian citizens and eligible Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) card holders.
The private charter flight which is scheduled to take off on June 9 at 11 pm has been approved by the Indian Embassy.
The private charter flight has been approved by the Indian government under the recent guidelines issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, allowing private charter aircrafts, he added. The approximate cost for Economy class is between $2200 and $2400 and Business class is between
$5000 and $6000 and it will be on first come first serve basis.
It is the first charter flight from all over the US, which also aims to bring those hailing from Telangana and stranded there to Hyderabad. Those from Andhra Pradesh who are stranded in the US can avail the chartered flight and on landing in Hyderabad, drive down to their destination in AP.
“Depending on further demand and requirement, we will decide on more trips in future. We are ready to help all those in need, specifically the people from Telangana,” said Ravi Puli. The organisers said all registered travellers will receive a copy of the guidelines for travel by private charter flights.
