In Jharkhand, with the issue of notification for the third phase of assembly elections, the process of filing nomination papers for 17 assembly seats has commenced.
Filing of nomination for this phase will end on the 25th and scrutiny will be done on 26th of this month. November 28 is the last date for withdrawal of candidature.
Seventeen constituencies spread over eight districts will go to polls in this phase on 12th December. The seats going to polls in
the third phase are - Koderma, Barkatha, Barhi, Mandu, Hazaribagh, Simaria, Barkagaon, Ramgarh, Dhanwar, Gomia, Bermo, Ichagarh, Silli, Khijiri, Ranchi, Hatia and Kanke. One seat is reserved for Scheduled Tribes and two seats for Scheduled castes.
Today is the last date for withdrawal of nominations for the 1st phase of polls.
The 81-member Jharkhand assembly will go to polls in five phases between November 30 and December 20. Counting of votes will be taken up on December 23.
