Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy yesterday inaugurated a computer training program for MLAs under the National e-Vidhan Application (NEVA) project, marking a major step toward a paperless Legislative Assembly.

The central government had approved 8.16 crore rupees for the initiative in 2022. During the training, MLAs were introduced to software designed

to streamline legislative proceedings. The upcoming budget session will be conducted entirely in digital mode.

The Puducherry government is planning to present the full budget in March. Legislative Assembly Speaker R. Selvam, Leader of the Opposition R. Siva, and several MLAs attended the event.
