Puducherry CM presents budget for the year 2021-22

Chief Minister of Puducherry Mr. N. Rangasamy on Thursday evening presented the budget for the year 2021-22 in the state assembly. The budget session began yesterday morning with the Lt. Governor’s address in the assembly.

The budget size for the year 2021-22 has been fixed at 9 thousand 9 hundred and 24 Crore rupees.

Chief Minister announced the waiver of farmers crop loan from Cooperative Banks. He also announced the waiver of education



loans availed by the SC/ST students through PADCO. The educational assistance scheme for SC/ST for providing free education right from class one to college level will be implemented from this year.

As part of phase out of Single Use Plastic in the Union Territory, the Chief Minister said that the Bahour Commune in Puducherry will be declared as Single-use plastic-free model commune on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi this year.
