Puducherry: In Puducherry, the 25th National Youth Festival will be held from January 12th to 16th, 2022. The Puducherry government and the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs would jointly hold this five-day-long national youth festival here.

Lt Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, in a message said that the Youth Affairs and Sports Ministry had selected Puducherry as the venue to hold the festival and this would be the first time that such an important event would be held in the UT.  A consultative meeting was held at Raj Nivas attended by Chief Minister



Rengasamy and Ministers to work out the modalities to hold the festival.  Making all the arrangements with adherence to COVID 19 protocol also figured in the discussion. 

Meanwhile, a delegation of officials of the Ministry of Youth Affairs led by  Secretary Usha Sharma had held discussions with the Chief Minister and Lt Governor with regard to the festival.  The proposed festival begins on January 12, as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, to mark the 75th year of Indian Independence.
