Pune-bound IndiGo flight delayed by 3 hours after pilot learns about grandmother's death

An IndiGo flight scheduled from Patna to Pune was delayed for three hours on Wednesday after the pilot learnt about his grandmother's death minutes before take-off.

When the flight was leaving the parking bay and was readying for take-off, the pilot received the news of



his grandmother’s death. Sources said he was disturbed and the airline deemed it fit in the passengers' interest that he doesn’t fly.

"The airline arranged for alternate crew, which took some time. Meanwhile, passengers were provided refreshments," an airline source said.
