The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached four immovable properties of 11 accused as ‘proceeds of terrorism’ in the ISIS module case in Maharashtra’s Pune. The NIA said that these properties are being used for Improvised Explosive Devices, (IED) fabrication and its training and planning of terrorist acts.
According to an agency press release issued on Sunday, the attached properties in Kondhwa, Pune are linked with 11 accused persons, including three absconders. It said that it has already charged all 11 in the case.
Attached under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the properties are
residential houses and flats linked with all 11 accused. The agency release mentioned that the case relates to an ISIS conspiracy to spread terror by carrying out attacks at various places in Maharashtra, Gujarat and other parts of India, through IED fabrication training workshops and recce of jungles for firing practices and hideouts, besides raising terror funds by committing armed robberies and thefts.
It added that the NIA investigations into the conspiracy and activities of ISIS will continue with an aim to destroy the terror networks of the global terrorist organisations and safeguard the country’s interests.
