In Punjab, single-phase polling will take place on 20th of this month for 117 assembly seats.There are 1304 candidates in the fray including two transgenders and 93 women candidates.

Chief Electoral Officer, Dr S Karuna Raju informed that among all the candidates, nine candidates are of 25-years-old age and six candidates are above the 80-years.

Five times Chief Minister 94 years old Parkash Singh Badal is the oldest



candidate contesting from Lambi constituency in Sri Muktsar Sahib. There are total of 2 crore 14 lakh 99 thousand 804 registered voters in the state.

The CEO informed that 24 thousand 740 polling stations have been set up in 14 thousand 684 polling locations. Out of which 2 thousand 13 polling stations are identified as critical.

Counting of votes will take place on March 10.
