New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi yesterday alleged that the government’s National Monetisation Pipeline would create monopolies.
Addressing media in New Delhi last evening, Mr Gandhi said, his party is not against privatization but the party is opposed to privatisation of strategic entities like railways.
Reacting sharply to Rahul Gandhi's comments, Union Minister Smriti Irani
said Congress government in Maharashtra raised 8,000 crore rupees by monetising Mumbai-Pune expressway.
She asked if Mr Gandhi is alleging that the Maharashtra government sold the expressway.
The Minister also questioned whether Mr Gandhi believes that state governments doing such monetisation under Congress leadership are selling their states.
