In Bihar, the rail traffic has resumed on both the Up and Down lines of Deen Dayal Upadhayaya-Buxar-Arrah-Patna rail section. The Down line was declared fit for rail operation at around 5.00 PM.
Earlier the Up line was restored this morning after a massive drive by teams of engineers, technicians and other railway workers at the accident site in Raghunath Pur in Buxar district.
The operation of rail traffic was stalled on the busiest New Delhi-Patna-Howrah route after the derailment of bogies of North East Express on Wednesday evening. The rail operation was badly hit and all
trains were plying via the diverted routes. Chief Public Relations Officer of East Central Railway, Birendra Kumar said first the route was opened for passenger trains and after that the main traffic will be normalized.
During the restoration work trains were plying via alternative lines of DDU-Gaya-Patna and Sasaram-Arrah-Patna route.
As per SOP, the Chief Railway Safety Commissioner of Eastern Circle will conduct the enquiry about the rail mishap, in which four lives were lost
