Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that a significant portion of the Railway budget has been allocated towards enhancing train safety. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi yesterday, Mr Vaishnaw said, that out of the total budget of around two lakh 62 thousand crore rupees, more than one lakh crore rupees has been earmarked for rail safety-related measures. He said, that in the last ten years, 31 thousand new tracks and 40 thousand kilometres of rail route have been electrified.    
                
Railway Minister Vaishnaw said that a record budget of five



thousand 147 crore rupees has been allocated for Punjab. He said this budgetary allocation is 23 times more as compared to the UPA government. Mr Vaishnaw said that 30 stations in Punjab are being redeveloped on lines of Amrit Bharat Stations.

The Minister said, nine thousand 959 crore rupees have been allocated for Rajasthan, which is 14 times higher than the UPA government. Mr Vaishnaw said that in Rajasthan 85 stations are being redeveloped on lines of Amrit Bharat Stations. Railway Minister said a record budget of two thousand 582 crore rupees has been allocated for Delhi.
