Vijayawada: South Central Railway (SCR) on Friday has warned that due to impending Michaung cyclone affecting the south coastal region of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, there is a likelihood of train services getting disrupted.
Trains are likely to be diverted, rescheduled, partially cancelled or cancelled as per demands of the situation.
SCR additional general manager (AGM) R. Dhananjayulu advised passengers to plan their rail journeys accordingly. He advised
them to check from railway authorities about the actual position of the running trains before undertaking their journey.
At a meeting he held with railway officials, the AGM advised officials to closely liaison with the state government to ensure safety of track and train operations.
Dhananjayulu said stationary watchmen are being posted at all vulnerable bridges and locations to get real time information.
