Chandigarh: Several parts of Punjab and Haryana today received rains, bringing relief to the people from sultry weather conditions.
Chandigarh received light showers in the morning and the mercury dropped by a few notches, a Meteorological (Met) Department official said.
In Haryana, Panchkula, Ambala and Yamunanagar were among other places that received rains.Mohali,
Ropar and Patiala in Punjab were also lashed by rains.
The Southwest Monsoon had advanced into Punjab and Haryana, including Chandigarh, on June 28, a day before of its scheduled arrival in the two states.
The Met department here has issued heavy rain warning for isolated places in the two states until tomorrow.
