Rajasthan BJP MLA, Manvendra Singh who is the son of former Union Minister Jaswant Singh, joined the Congress on Wednesday.

Mr Singh met Congress president Rahul Gandhi before joining the party in the presence of leaders including Ashok Gehlot, Sachin Pilot and others.

Reacting to it, Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said, Manvendra Singh's joining Congress will not have any

impact on the BJP and in Rajasthan.

He said, Manvendra Singh's father Jaswant Singh spent his entire life fighting with Congress and BJP gave him respect as Finance and Defence Minister.

Mr Rathore said, it is the same Congress party that didn't appoint any Rajput from Rajasthan as minister in Centre in 70 years.
