In Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot presented the budget for the year 2021-22 in the Assembly yesterday. A paperless budget was introduced for the first time. In a two hours 46 minute- long Budget speech, Chief Minister announced several schemes for agriculture, health, education, tourism, and education sectors. Mr. Gehlot did not impose any new tax in the budget. News reports that the Chief Minister announced that the state's agriculture budget would be presented separately from next year. He said that farmers will be provided interest-free loans of Rupees 16 thousand
crores.
The Chief Minister announced to implement universal health coverage in the state for the first time in the country at a cost of three thousand 500 crore rupees. This will provide a health insurance facility of five lakh rupees to each family residing in the state. He said that the Right to Health will be implemented soon.
The Chief Minister also announced 50 thousand recruitments and free travel in roadways buses for youth appearing in competitive exams. Nr. Gehlot said that one thousand 200 English-medium government schools will be opened in the state.
