In Rajasthan Assembly on Wednesday, budget for the financial year 2024-25 has been presented by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister of the state Ms. Diya Kumari. In her budget speech, she announced four lakh recruitments in the government departments in next five years. Diya Kumari proposed to make 1 lakh recruitments in various government departments including medical and police this year.
The Finance Minister presented several proposals for various sections of the society, including conducting Mission Hariyalo Rajasthan and announcing to present a separate green budget from next year. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat described the budget as inclusive one whereas former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot and State Congress President Govind
Singh Dotasara called the budget non directional.
Finance Minister Diya Kumari proposed 6 new water projects in the state during her budget speech. The budget made a provision of Rs 27 thousand 660 crore for expansion of medical facilities and Rs 25,000 crore for the agriculture sector in the state. Finance Minister announced electricity supply to farmers during the day time also for irrigation purpose.
Under the Lakhpati Didi Yojana launched to improve the living standards of rural women, a target has been set to create 15 lakh Lakhpati Didis in the state. The Finance Minister also announced to run Atal Entrepreneurship Program to promote startups in the state. She also proposed to bring a new youth policy for the youngsters. No new tax has been proposed in the budget.
