Rajasthan govt announces Rs.1 lakh compensation for flood victims

The Rajasthan government has announced a compensation of one lakh each to the next of kin of those who have lost their lives in the floods.An official release yesterday said, government also announced compensation of 25 thousand rupees each for those critically injured and 10 thousand rupees each for those who sustained minor injuries. 

The relief amount will be provided from the chief minister's relief fund for the flood



affected Jalore, Sirohi, Pali and Barmer districts. 

The decision was taken at a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. The CM also instructed the officials to conduct a survey of villages where losses to crops are more than 50 per cent. 

Earlier in the day, Raje visited flood-hit areas in Jalore and Sirohi and reviewed the situation there.
